Responsibilities

 

  • Design and implement Azure cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines ensuring compliance controls and audit trails
  • Implement security controls, network segmentation, and audit logging for regulatory compliance
  • Deploy and manage multi-tenant infrastructure with proper isolation, access controls, and compliance boundaries
  • Establish and enforce IaC standards, code review practices, and infrastructure patterns
  • Provide technical leadership in infrastructure/DevOps domain across platform engineering team
  • Enforce compliance and security standards, even when it slows down development
  • Create comprehensive documentation, runbooks, and operational playbooks
  • Translate requirements from engineering teams into technical solutions in collaboration with other software engineers
  • Mentor junior engineers as team grows; coordinate cross-functional infrastructure needs
  • Authority to push back when approaches violate compliance requirements or operational best practices
  • Execute architectural decisions from Principal Platform Architect, providing implementation feedback and operational expertise
  • Monitor platform performance, security posture, and compliance controls
  • Establish operational excellence practices including monitoring, alerting, and incident response
  • Collect and maintain audit evidence for compliance frameworks
  • Build reliable and maintainable systems 

Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical field
  • Minimum 8 years experience building cloud platforms on Azure using Infrastructure as Code
  • Demonstrated expertise in infrastructure/DevOps across multiple domains
  • Demonstrated experience integrating hybrid environments with compliant gateways
  • Proven experience working in regulated environments with compliance requirements
  • Track record of building maintainable, reliable systems with strong operational practice
  • Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform strongly preferred)
  • Cloud platform expertise (Azure preferred) spanning compute, networking, security, CI/CD, and operational tooling
  • Understanding of data platform architecture and how infrastructure supports data workflows
  • Strong security foundation including IAM, RBAC, network security, and authentication/authorization best practices
  • Experience working in regulated environments (critical infrastructure, healthcare, financial services, or government)
  • Compliance enforcement mindset – comfortable enforcing standards even when it slows development
  • Operational ownership-builds for long-term maintainability
  • Excellent communication skills to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and document decisions clearly
  • Team leadership capability to mentor junior engineers and drive technical decisions collaboratively
  • Ability to establish patterns and standards that future engineers will follow

 

Preferred Qualifications

  •  Direct experience implementing SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST controls
  •  Azure DevOps experience with pipelines and deployment workflows
  •  Multi-tenant SaaS platform experience serving multiple isolated clients
  •  Programming skills in Python, C#, or similar languages for automation and tooling
  • Strong attention to detail, careful documentation practices, and proactive tech debt prevention

Compensation Range

$145,000 CAD to $170,000 CAD annually. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs.
